The One Whom My Soul Loves

After seeing the incredible work the lovely creatives at Ivy & Bleu have done at our sister venues on the Tweed Coast, we were so excited to have Mandi and her team bring their signature dreamy, feminine and elegant vibes to our barn. The One Whom My Soul Loves – even the name had us day dreaming! We chat with founder of Ivy & Bleu, Mandi Turner about the inspiration for this styled shoot.

– Three words to describe this shoot?

Candlelight, latte & fluffiness

– Talk us through the inspiration behind the style?

When we first saw the barn we knew we wanted to create something embracing chocolate hues and we played with elegant tapered dinner candles in tones of latte, nude & chocolate to embrace the barn feel. The beams were made for draping & installations embracing that elegant barn feel and giving the room a warm and cosy winter feel – the team at Av Ideas helped us rig line between the beams for our signature draping and this cloudy inspired installation. Of course the main piece di resistance of this venue is that gorgeous fire so we followed our “fluffy” inspiration (inspired by the peonies that had just become seasonally available and featured in our bridal bouquet) by building a cascading babies breath piece around it and highlighting with more candles & some gorgeous signage from Blossie.

– What are the benefits of styling a wedding in barn venue?

The beams (alongside av ideas magic) allow us to do all sorts of fun suspended styling.

– What did you love about working at The Acre?

It’s just an absolute vibe. From the barn type feel inside to the palm trees naturally framing the ceremony it allows us to vary so much style wise not only for this shoot but to suit each individual client. There is also so many amazing photographic opportunities around the property which is a dream.

– What’s your top tip when it comes to styling a barn venue, like The Acre?

Look for the big picture styling first like our signature draping and fill the space with candlelight to lighten and soften.
