The PLB Group (our parent company) are a family run company who are always savouring that perfect last bite. Hence the company name – PLB!
Before the wedding venues became the primary focus, the team created several successful restaurants. From the iconic Osteria Italian restaurant in Casuarina, Taverna Kingscliff and Bombay Cricketers Club. If you’re familiar with these Tweed Coast restaurants, you would understand the quality and high standards PLB Group impose on themselves when it comes to not only food, but the entire dining experience. And they continue to do so through our Casuarina sister restaurant, Lolita’s Mexican Cantina.
The mastermind chef, Food Director and co-owner behind the hospitality group, Lia Mason, created our wedding menus enlisting the extensive experience from renowned celebrity chef Matt Kemp, with a primary focus on fresh, local produce with simple but amazing flavours. If you consider yourself the ultimate foodie couple, when it comes to Gold Coast wedding venues, The Acre must be on your shortlist.
We cater to different kinds of couples at The Acre, and we know, not everyone has the same tastes. So it’s important to us to offer different options with our menu as well. On top of the canapes, platters and late night feasting options, we offer three different cuisines.
MEDITERRANEAN INSPIRED MENU
Inspired from the acclaimed creators behind the original, Taverna in Kingscliff, our Mediterranean menu is designed to be feasted together. Think succulent meat, seafood and full flavoured vegetables. The signature dishes, including Byron Bay Haloumi, slow cooked New England lamb and Bangalow pork belly, rarely disappoint. Our Mediterranean menu has basic and deluxe options and alternate drop also available.
AUTHENTIC ITALIAN MENU
With ideals of simple, quality food, we value fresh local produce and source the majority of our ingredients from local farms and suppliers if we do not grow it in our own produce gardens. Our Italian menus are designed to be shared and enjoyed together. Favourites include our signature pasta “Aglio e olio” spaghetti tossed with olive oil and garlic – simplicity with an abundance of flavour and our chargrilled free range chicken with salsa verde. Our Italian menu has premium and deluxe options and alternate drop options are also available.
MODERN MEXICAN MENU
Courtesy of our sister restaurant Lolita’s Mexican Cantina, our Mexican banquet menu has all the favourite flavours you’ve come to love from modern Mexican food in Australia. Expect all the classics, jam packed with flavour and freshness. Including charred corn, spicy squid, jalapeno poppers and of course tacos galore. Plus, some dishes with a modern twist sure to impress even your most picky of food critic friends.
The dining experience is one of the main elements of your wedding day, particularly for your guests, so our experienced kitchen team have a strong focus on preparing the highest quality food and our dining staff, on unparalleled service to complete the experience. We may be a tad bias, but we think we are the best foodie wedding venue on the Gold Coast.
