While our authentic barn has been around for more than 100 years and Boomerang Farm has been home to hundreds of weddings over the years, we’ve reinvented weddings here at The Acre. So we wanted to share a little more about how weddings work at our Gold Coast hinterland venue.
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT OUR VENUE…
While we offer a large open green space, we also have the advantage of being really private. Once you drive through our gates, you’ll find acres of tropical nature, hidden from the outside world. A former dairy farm, our wedding barn was built in 1902. Since then, with some love and care we’ve kept the character of the barn but refreshed the space, adding an internal bar, adjoining covered decking area and a brand new Whiskey Bar. Cross our manicured lawns to find a dedicated ceremony deck overlooking Mudgeeraba creek.

The size of our venue means we can cater for a few different types of weddings;
> Full weddings from ceremony to reception and everything in between.
> Ceremonies only
> Tipi or marquee weddings
THE INCLUSIONS IN OUR PACKAGES…
We offer exclusive use of our ceremony site, private gardens and reception barn, plus all the important items you need for your ceremony. Wooden arbour, seating, signing table and chairs, as well as, stools, market umbrellas, picnic rugs and lawn games for cocktail hour. Plus everything you need for your wedding dining, long wooden tables, tan crossback chairs, crockery, cutlery, glassware and linen napkins. Of course you can add any items from a stylist or florist but we most definitely have all the necessities covered for you! We are full service and fully licensed, so we also have all your food and beverage needs covered too.
SOME THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT THE ACRE…
We’re part of the PLB Group (the hospitality gurus behind iconic Casuarina wedding venue, Osteria and waterfront Ancora host to hundreds of weddings every year) so our team are well experienced in delivering special and tailored wedding experiences for our couples.
A Michelin star chef is at the helm of our menu. Our menus (featuring three different cuisines) is a collaboration with UK celebrity chef Matt Kemp.
We have a working fireplace! Candles are beautiful to set the mood but nothing beats the coziness and ambience from a lit fireplace.
We have a resident ceremony supervisor. Kevin the Kookaburra loves a perch on your arbour to oversee things.
